The original Gusbourne Estate in Appledore, Kent dates back to 1410, when it was owned by John de Goosebourne. In 2004, Andrew Weeber took over the estate with a clear vision and a single goal: to create wines that would stand up alongside the very finest offerings from across the globe.

Since the first release in 2010, our trio of English sparkling wines have received critical acclaim in major UK and international competitions. In 2017 Gusbourne was named ‘English Wine Producer of the Year’ at the International Wine and Spirit Competition held annually in London, having previously won the award in 2013 and 2015.

With a key focus on sparkling wines our vineyards are planted to the classic varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, which contribute to our Brut Reserve, Rosé and Blanc de Blancs. We only produce wines from our vineyards and follow an exacting process of quality selection at harvest and throughout our winemaking process. Our wines spend up to four years ageing in bottle and are only released when they are considered ready for drinking.

We offer a warm welcome to guests and provide a selection of tours highlighting our beautiful vineyards and winery together with tasting experiences at The Nest.
From fully hosted tours and tastings to a self-guided walking tour, you can choose how you wish to experience our ancient estate.

Gusbourne is just a short drive from the charming and historic towns of Rye and Winchelsea, providing the chance to step back in time and absorb their fascinating medieval histories. For nature lovers, nearby Camber offers a wild and natural beauty with stunning golden sands and a beach that stretches over seven miles.
